Studio Classes

COVID-19 UPDATE November 5th 2020

Unfortunately with the latest Government regulations coming into force today, the studio is now CLOSED until the beginning of December.

You can still join me online in a variety of ways, finding your yoga practice from the comfort and safety of your own home - find out more about live-streamed and pre-recorded classes.

You can join me at the studio for a variety of classes: class descriptions are below and the current timetable can be seen here.

All classes are £7 and must be booked online, with booking opening a month in advance. Or there are a range of class passes for you to buy to give you great value for money!

You will need to have your own equipment for now.

Please read the Studio Participant Information before booking!

Let's Begin

A class designed for absolute beginners, helping them to find their feet - literally! This class will teach you the basic postures and the common cues, and hopefully give you the confidence to eventually join other classes. Each class will combine static poses with gentle flow and breathwork, and end with a deep guided relaxation.

Move

Suitable for all ages and abilities with plenty of options to make it as gentle or challenging as you need. Move is also the ideal class for beginners or a place to make your way back to the mat after a break.
In this Hatha based class, we will combine static poses with breathwork and just a little flow, designed to improve posture, strength and mobility. And we will end with a deep, guided relaxation.
A chance to stretch, feel strong, breathe, relax.

Flow

Slightly stronger and with more movement than Move, but still suitable for all abilities, Flow classes are built around flowing sequences of postures. We will consider the breath as we move, and take some time to consider appropriate options and modifications, working towards increasing strength and flexibility. And as with all classes we will end with a deep, guided relaxation.

Elements

Taking some inspiration from an Iyengar based practice, this is a slightly stronger class, with the emphasis on the detail. We will focus on static postures, on the alignment and integrity of each pose, to build strength, stamina and flexibility. As with all classes, we will take time to consider modifications to make each practice personal, and we will still take time to work with the breath. And then there is the relaxation at the end...

Meditate

Beginning with some gentle stretches and movement to ease our way towards physical stillness, and then taking you through guided meditations to bring a mental stillness too. No previous experience required.

Reset

A class designed to release tension, unravel and unwind, iron out the kinks. With gentle movement, and guided meditations, a chance to really switch off to everything else. To pause and reset.

Kids & Families

With the emphasis on fun, in our Family Yoga sessions and Kids' Yoga Workshops we will explore different aspects of a yoga practice and each class will include some physical movement, breathwork, mindfulness and relaxation.

Begin

A class designed for absolute beginners, helping them to find their feet - literally! This class will teach you the basic postures and the common cues, and hopefully give you the confidence to eventually join other classes. Each class will combine static poses with gentle flow and breathwork, and end with a deep guided relaxation.

Move

The most general class on the timetable, suitable for all ages and abilities with plenty of options to make it as gentle or challenging as you need. Move is also a great class for beginners or a place to make your way back to the mat after a break.

Elements - returning soon

Taking some inspiration from an Iyengar based practice, this is a slightly stronger class, with the emphasis on the detail. We will focus on static postures, on the alignment and integrity of each pose, to build strength, stamina and flexibility. As with all classes, we will take time to consider modifications to make each practice personal, and we will still take time to work with the breath. And then there is the relaxation at the end...

Rise

An earlier class: fit it in before work, before the kids surface (if you are lucky!), before the routine of the day sets in. Ease from bed to mat, and then energise to start your day the yoga way! And Rise is online, so no need to add to your morning commute or even get dressed if you’d prefer not to!

Reset

A class designed to release tension, unravel and unwind, iron out the kinks. No previous yoga experience is necessary, and barely moving from the ground the class is suitable for all. With gentle movement, and guided meditations, a chance to really switch off to everything else. To pause and reset. To find deep rest. To come back to you.

Unwind - returning soon

A shorter, gentle class that focuses on meditation and breath to shed the day's stresses and strains, some stretching to ease out the kinks and a yoga 'power nap' that will in turn re-energise you for the rest of the day and alleviate that early evening slump.  An opportunity to bag a quick yoga-fix on the way home from work perhaps, and leave the efforts of the day behind before you even step thorough your front door. Suitable for all levels from beginners upwards.

Connect - returning soon

Connecting all the elements of yoga: breath, body, mind and spirit.  A slightly longer class that allows for a holistic approach offering relaxation, asanas (postures), breath practices, meditation and some theory thrown in every now and then for good measure.  Suitable for all levels from beginners upwards.

Pause

Combining 2 techniques for ultimate relaxation. Yin yoga brings together the Eastern philosophies and Western sciences with longer held passive postures requiring you to surrender and soften to stretch that works into the connective tissue. Yoga Nidra, also known as 'yogic sleep', is an immensely powerful meditation technique and one of the easiest practices of yoga to develop and maintain. Together, yin and nidra will allow both body and mind to let go.

Meditate - returning soon

Beginning with some gentle stretches and movement to ease our way towards physical stillness, and then taking you through guided meditations to bring a mental stillness too. No previous experience required.

Sleep - coming soon

A 5-week course following the Sleep Recovery™ programme to give you specific, effective actions and tools to repair your sleep, moving from sleeplessness to waking up happy. With a mixture of practice and theory, over the five weeks we explore ways to support sleep and manage energy levels using a holistic approach – body, breath, mind, emotions, soul. While the Sleep Recovery programme has its roots in yoga, no previous yoga experience is necessary and all practices are completely accessible. (The course fee is for all 5 weeks, and includes a copy of the Sleep Recovery book.)

Kids & Families

With the emphasis on fun, in our Family Yoga sessions and Kids' Yoga Workshops we will explore different aspects of a yoga practice and each class will include some physical movement, breathwork, mindfulness and relaxation.
