Studio Classes

COVID-19 UPDATE November 5th 2020

Unfortunately with the latest Government regulations coming into force today, the studio is now CLOSED until the beginning of December.

You can still join me online in a variety of ways, finding your yoga practice from the comfort and safety of your own home - find out more about live-streamed and pre-recorded classes.

You can join me at the studio for a variety of classes: class descriptions are below and the current timetable can be seen here.

All classes are £7 and must be booked online, with booking opening a month in advance. Or there are a range of class passes for you to buy to give you great value for money!

You will need to have your own equipment for now.

Please read the Studio Participant Information before booking!

Let's Begin

A class designed for absolute beginners, helping them to find their feet - literally! This class will teach you the basic postures and the common cues, and hopefully give you the confidence to eventually join other classes. Each class will combine static poses with gentle flow and breathwork, and end with a deep guided relaxation.

Move

Suitable for all ages and abilities with plenty of options to make it as gentle or challenging as you need. Move is also the ideal class for beginners or a place to make your way back to the mat after a break.
In this Hatha based class, we will combine static poses with breathwork and just a little flow, designed to improve posture, strength and mobility. And we will end with a deep, guided relaxation.
A chance to stretch, feel strong, breathe, relax.

Flow

Slightly stronger and with more movement than Move, but still suitable for all abilities, Flow classes are built around flowing sequences of postures. We will consider the breath as we move, and take some time to consider appropriate options and modifications, working towards increasing strength and flexibility. And as with all classes we will end with a deep, guided relaxation.

Meditate

Beginning with some gentle stretches and movement to ease our way towards physical stillness, and then taking you through guided meditations to bring a mental stillness too. No previous experience required.

Kids & Families

With the emphasis on fun, in our Family Yoga sessions and Kids' Yoga Workshops we will explore different aspects of a yoga practice and each class will include some physical movement, breathwork, mindfulness and relaxation.
If this is something that would interest you, then dates and details can be found on FB, or by joining the mailing list to keep in touch with everything going on at the Den

Monday 6:15pm ~ Thursday 7:30pm ~ Friday 9:30am

Move

The most general class on the timetable, suitable for all ages and abilities with plenty of options to make it as gentle or challenging as you need. Move is also a great class for beginners or a place to make your way back to the mat after a break. In this Hatha based class, we will combine static poses with breathwork and just a little flow, designed to improve posture, strength and mobility. And we will end with a deep, guided relaxation. A chance to stretch, feel strong, breathe, relax.

Monday 9:30am & 7:30pm ~ Tuesday 7:30pm ~ Thursday 6:15pm ~ Saturday 8:30am

Flow - returning soon

Slightly stronger and with more movement than Move, but still suitable for all abilities, Flow classes are built around flowing sequences of postures. We will consider the breath as we move, and take some time to consider appropriate options and modifications, working towards increasing strength and flexibility. And as with all classes we will end with a deep, guided relaxation.

Elements - returning soon

Taking some inspiration from an Iyengar based practice, this is a slightly stronger class, with the emphasis on the detail. We will focus on static postures, on the alignment and integrity of each pose, to build strength, stamina and flexibility. As with all classes, we will take time to consider modifications to make each practice personal, and we will still take time to work with the breath. And then there is the relaxation at the end...

Restore (online, via Yoga-to-Go)

A gentle class, designed for those living with chronic conditions, in particular CFS/ME. A no pressure environment to gently stretch and unwind, with a supported, guided relaxation. A chance to rebalance, restore energy. This class is online, so you can enjoy as much or as little of the practice as you wish from the comfort of your own home, even the warmth of your bed if you wish. The class is monthly, and includes a recording of the session to enjoy in your own time over the following month, perhaps at a time that suits you better, or perhaps simply repeating the practice to find a sense of familiarity, a sense of comfort, a sense of ease.

Now available via Yoga-to-Go, the library of pre-recorded classes

Yin & Nidra

Combining 2 techniques for ultimate relaxation.

Yin yoga has its roots in traditional Chinese medicine and uses longer held passive postures, requiring you to surrender and soften, to find a stretch that works into the connective tissue. Yoga Nidra, also known as 'yogic sleep', is an immensely powerful meditation technique and one of the easiest practices of yoga to develop and maintain.

Together, yin and nidra will allow both body and mind to let go.

First Friday of the month 7pm

Meditate

Beginning with some gentle stretches and movement to ease our way towards physical stillness, and then taking you through guided meditations to bring a mental stillness too. No previous experience required.

Third Friday of the month 6:15pm

Reset

A class designed to release tension, unravel and unwind, iron out the kinks. No previous yoga experience is necessary, and barely moving from the ground the class is suitable for all. With gentle movement, and guided meditations, a chance to really switch off to everything else. To pause and reset. To find deep rest. To come back to you.

Third Friday of the month 7:30pm

Gong Bath

In this practice you will be invited to simply lie still, as the sound of the gong surrounds you, and the vibrations reach from head to toe.

Gong benefits include:

  • Reduce stress

  • Aid sleep

  • Release emotional blockages

  • Improve overall wellbeing

  • Give a sense of relaxation

  • Deep meditation

  • Along with many more

Fourth Friday of the month 6:15pm & 7:30pm

Aromagongs - coming soon

โ€‹Scent and sound baths are deeply nourishing to the soul. Connecting with sound and aroma brings an even deeper level of relaxation.

Using aromas that resonate with the frequency of the gongs can guide us to greater balance and harmony.

After an initial introduction to the topic you will be guided to explore the aromas you are drawn to and create a bespoke blend to take with you into the sound bath. The blend will be aligned to the frequency of the gong.

Explore how aroma can add a new dimension to the healing power of sound.

Aromayoga - coming soon

In this series of AROMAYOGA workshops, we will synergise aromas within a chosen theme to educate and enhance the use of essential oils in self care.
In each workshop, we will consider a different group of selected essential oils following a particular theme.

We will begin our time together with an aromatic guided meditation, during which you will gain an insight into the use and benefits of these aromas for both your yoga practice and personal well being.
We will then enjoy an yoga practice together, following the same theme.
Beverley Higham is an international teacher of aromatherapy with more than 30 years experience in Holistic aromatherapy and the wellness industry

Sleep - coming soon

Either a day-long workshop, or a 5-week course following the Sleep Recovery™ programme to give you specific, effective actions and tools to repair your sleep, moving from sleeplessness to waking up happy. With a mixture of practice and theory, over the five weeks we explore ways to support sleep and manage energy levels using a holistic approach – body, breath, mind, emotions, soul. While the Sleep Recovery programme has its roots in yoga, no previous yoga experience is necessary and all practices are completely accessible.

Kids & Families

With the emphasis on fun, in our Family Yoga sessions and Kids' Yoga Workshops we will explore different aspects of a yoga practice and each class will include some physical movement, breathwork, mindfulness and relaxation.

Pregnancy yoga - coming soon

A weekly class, just for mums-to-be. A practice designed for the expectant mum, from 16 weeks. A chance to move safely, mindful of all the changes in your body as baby grows, relax and take precious time for yourself.

Postnatal yoga - coming soon

Another weekly class, this time for new mums (up to baby crawling). Easing the body back into movementsafely, and with all the changes in mind. Bring baby too, so no childcare needed, but the practice is just for you. Put yourself at the centre of the universe for while.

Chair yoga - coming soon

A slightly different class, chair yoga gives you a chance to enjoy your practice without the need to get up and down off a mat.
Great for those with limited mobility, and for those looking for something a little different.
We will still move mindfully, stretch and build strength, take time to engage with the breath, and of course, relax
