For those travelling by car, we are close to M6, M58 and M61.

There is a large car park right outside the studio (this is pay & display but FREE in the evenings and at weekends), and there are also free car parks just a few minutes walk away.

For those looking for somewhere to stay, we even have a Premier Inn right on our doorstep!

Frequently Asked Questions

What time do we start and finish? Each day begins at 10am, and ends at 5pm lunch and a couple of other shorter breaks.

Do I need to have an experience of Yin Yoga to join this Yin Teacher Training? You don’t need to have had experience of Yin, but if possible attending a variety of yin yoga classes prior to the training is helpful. You will need to have a strong motivation to want to learn Yin and have read ‘The Complete Yin Yoga Book’ by Bernie Clark prior to taking the course.

I am not a qualified yoga teacher, can I still do the Yin Teacher Training? Yes you can. If you are a dedicated yoga student (with a minimum of 2 years consistent practice) you are able to attend the course to deepen your knowledge and experience. However you will not be qualified to teach Yin Yoga as a Yoga Teacher unless you have completed a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program. In this instance you will still receive your Certificate of Attendance or Certificate of Completion upon receipt of your assignment.

What will be covered during the course? In this Teacher Training we will explore Yin Sequencing, Understanding the use of props and modifications in teaching Yin, Deeper teaching skills of language usage and holding space, The history and concepts of Yin Yoga, Chinese Meridian Theory, Exploring fascia and skeletal variations in Yin, and Meditation practices. The course includes a mixture of experiential Yin Practice, lectures, group discussions and teaching practice exercises.

Will there be an opportunity to meet with Dawn Wright privately during the course? As this is a 4 day intensive there will not be the opportunity for any personal mentoring during the course itself, but post course there will be the possibility to arrange a personal mentoring session with Dawn either through Skype or FaceTime at additional cost, payable directly to Dawn post study.

Will I receive a course manual? Yes, Dawn will provide you with a comprehensive course manual.

What do I need to do before this training begins in order to prepare? Please purchase a hard copy of the book ‘The Complete Guide to Yin Yoga’ by Bernie Clark prior to your course. Participate in or observe 3 yin yoga classes (ideally with 3 different teachers). Make notes of the outline of the class along with your reflections on the content and focus of the lesson. You will need to bring these with you to the course training dates. If you have a lack of Yin Yoga classes in your area you can do observations of on-line classes, but attendance of a physical class is recommended where possible.

How much time do I have to dedicate to the training outside of the contact hours? The course is a 50 hour course, which is made up of the following. 24 contact teaching hours 26 non-contact hours including: – 12 Hours reading, research or DVD viewing on the subject of Yin Yoga – 14 Hours to include “om” work between training days, course assignment, and observation of yin classes. The assignment will be explained in full detail during the training, and the exact deadline date will be given to you.

What happens if I can’t attend one day of the training? To obtain the 50-hour Yin Yoga Teaching Certificate, you need to have attended 100% of the training, otherwise you will receive a Certificate of Attendance only for the number of hours attended. Please plan ahead for this as requests to leave early/arrive late cannot be accommodated. If there is space, it may be possible to attend the day missed when the course is next run at The Den Yoga Studio. There would be an additional fee for this and is subject to availability.
